ST attended the Autism AIM hub after a late autism diagnosis, with many issues and concerns: isolation, depression, lack of employment/ volunteering or social activities, benefits and finance issues, health and housing issues.
AB had some advocacy support around a housing issue and saw first hand how advocacy can help. He is now volunteering as an advocate and supporting others in situations like the one he was in.
LEEP 1 stands for Leeds People 1st. The abbreviation makes the name seem shorter. It's easy to say and easy to remember! People First started in America. Now there are lots of People First groups in Britain. They are groups for people with a learning disability to speak up for themselves.
