In fewer than four weeks’ time, Advonet are holding a free event asking for people’s feedback on the safeguarding process. This is to help find out what works well and what can be done better for people who have experience of safeguarding.
On the day, there will be a number of guest speakers and examples of how people have been able to feed into the way in which safeguarding works:

  • Touchstone, Carers Leeds and the Leeds Survivor-Led Crisis Service (LSLCS) will all be speaking
  • Leep1 will be speaking about their involvement in the “Talk to Me, Hear my Voice” campaign
  • The Leeds Safeguarding Adults Board will be talking about what the project aims to do

The speakers will be helping us to explore the best way to reach people who have been through safeguarding processes, so that they can talk about how the safeguarding process affects people from different communities.

Citizens’ Panel

Alongside guest speakers, this planning event will see a Citizens’ Panel set up. It will be made up of people who have had lived experience of being under safeguarding. The Panel will be independent and will give feedback on how the safeguarding process can be improved.
As well as being about engaging diverse community partners in the work and its planning, the event provides an opportunity for Health and Social Care professionals to learn about the project.
