Agenda released for Friday’s RSS planning event

Agenda released for Friday’s RSS planning event

The schedule for this Friday’s Lived Experience of Restraint, Seclusion and Segregation (RSS) event has been published. At the free planning event, organised by Advonet and CHANGE, we will have a few short talks, an introduction to the event and space to discuss what our work should do.

Firstly, Philip Bramson, Advonet’s Chief Executive, will welcome visitors and give an overview of what the RSS project is all about. Then, he’ll hand over to Cllr Fiona Venner, Leeds City Council’s Executive Member for Children and Families. Cllr Venner’s talk is on the impact that RSS has on children and the adults they become.

Involvement

Emma Oldham-Fox, Professional Practice Lead for Coproduction at Leeds and York Partnership Foundation Trust (LYPFT) is also speaking. She’ll be discussing how LYPFT have used coproduction with service users to improve the support they offer patients. Ellen Dimuantes, the RSS Project’s lead, will give an outline of our work and what it aims to do.

Next, there will be a series of discussions and group exercises, introduced by CHANGE Chief Executive Philipa Bragman. They are about campaigning to stop the use of RSS and look at the best ways to gather people’s stories. They will be facilitated by people from CHANGE, Advonet and other groups we work with.

There are still a few free places available at Friday’s event. It takes place from 10am to 12:30pm in the Sullivan Room, Leeds Town Hall, The Headrow, Leeds LS1 3AD.
