Last month, we held a free event about the new Advocacy Development Fund. Taking place in-person, we had a number of guest speakers talk about advocacy and how it can make a difference to marginalised communities in Leeds.

We also had discussion groups, asking attendees to share their ideas on how the fund could work. Split into nine groups of people, we asked them:

  • How can we make the application process easy?
  • Where is Advocacy most needed?
  • How can everyone benefit from the grants?

Feedback document

To give an idea of what people would like to see the fund be used for, we have put their suggestions together in one document. It lists ideas thought of when asked each of the three questions. To download a copy, please click on the button below.

Online launch event

As a follow-up to May’s event, we are launching the Advocacy Development Fund this July. Held online, the launch is on Wednesday 20th July from 1pm to 3pm and is on Zoom.

It is free to attend and is for community groups in the Leeds area. On the day, there will be guest speakers and information on how to apply for a grant and what it can be used for. An agenda will be released in due course.

If you would like to attend the online launch, please register at https://adflaunch.eventbrite.co.uk. For any questions about the event or the Advocacy Development Fund, please email Bushra at [email protected].
