Advonet’s next Focus Group meeting will be held online on the Zoom app again, after a successful trial in May. The meeting, which is happening next month, will discuss:
- How you are feeling and what has been good and bad for you during the lockdown
- Self-advocacy – Bushra Javed, our Self-Advocacy Manager, will be in the Zoom chat to talk about our work
- Advonet’s response to Black Lives Matter
- The recruitment process for a Client Consultant
Bushra will also be asking the Focus Group about whether they would like to be the steering group for our self-advocacy work. The group would give feedback about what works and what could be better about it.
The Client Consultant’s role will be to help involve our clients more in what we do. Ideally, the person in the role would have lived experience of being in a marginalised community and will have used advocacy services in the past.
At the end of the meeting, everyone attending will nominate someone to represent the Group at Advonet’s next Board Meeting.
When and where?
The Focus Group is meeting on Monday 13th July from 2pm to 4pm on Zoom. It is open to citizens of Leeds, including anyone who has ever accessed any of Advonet’s services.
