The programme for this autumn’s Strengthening the City Through Advocacy 2018 event has been revealed. The event will follow a slightly different format from last year and will have two main aims.
Our first is to launch the Leeds Advocacy Network. This will be done towards the end of the event and will invite organisations delivering advocacy support, formal and informal, to join.
The second is to hold six workshops, all of which will run at the same time. Each one will focus on a specific area and aim to find out how advocacy can help.

Our workshops

Here is a list of the workshops we’re running on the day:

  • Campaigning advocacy: How we can influence change
  • Advocacy and problem-solving
  • Using self-advocacy tools
  • Advocacy in marginalised groups
  • Neighbourhood self-advocacy
  • How in-house advocacy can work alongside other support
