Our project for parents working with social workers to help them be heard

Are you feeling scared, confused or anxious? Are you working with social workers and want support to understand your choices and get your voice heard? Do you want to learn to speak up for yourself? Our project can help you.

About our project

Sometimes, when we are going through a difficult time, it is hard to understand things and say what we are feeling. We have some offers that could help you.

Learn to be independent, get guidance and support. Our Turn to Us project can help you.

Our Self-Advocacy and CHANGE projects are running Turn to Us.

We work with parents who are working with social workers to make sure their voices are heard.

Training

Learn about Self Advocacy and how to speak up for yourself. You can attend a half-day session, or learn at a slower pace over four weeks.

You will have a chance to ask questions and practice with others who struggle to speak up.

If you would like training, please contact us.

Peer Advocacy

Our service has peer advocates to help you get heard. Peer advocates:

  • Have personal experience of working with social workers and understand how you feel.
  • Will listen to you.
  • Can help you to understand the situation and how to ask for what you need.
  • Help you to plan meetings and speak up.
  • Help you to learn how to speak up and let them know what you feel you need help with.
