About the Service
We currently provide independent in-house advocacy at Exemplar Healthcare’s Ravensdale care home in the Whinmoor area of Leeds. We have worked there since 2013.
We also provide in-house advocacy for patients at Waterloo Manor in Garforth, Leeds.
Our service sees an independent advocate work with residents in a care home to ensure their voices are heard and their rights are upheld.
What Does the Service Do
Within the care home, we provide an independent service. An advocate spends time at the home to ensure that residents’ voices are heard, each person understands their choices and is enabled to make decisions e.g. at in-house care planning meetings.
The independent advocate also supports residents’ involvement in development of the care home e.g. conducting feedback surveys among residents and carers, providing an independent report and making recommendations.
Who is the Service For?
Our service is for care home residents. At the moment, we work in the following venues:
- Kingfisher View Specialist Care Service – Exemplar Healthcare – Castleford
- Millcroft – Active Pathways – Seacroft, Leeds
- Waterloo Manor – Inmind Healthcare Group – Garforth, Leeds
