We’re excited about the next Leeds Learning Disability People’s Parliament this Tuesday. This is because it’s time to vote for your representatives on the Leeds Learning Disability Partnership Board.
Last year’s representatives have done some fantastic work. They have taken it in turns to co-chair the board meetings. Many of them have enjoyed it so much they are putting themselves forward for re-election.
Shadowing project
Staying with the democracy theme, for anyone interested in learning more about how councillors work, please be involved in the Shadowing project. This is where you learn about what your local councillors do. They can learn about you and have a better understanding of the challenges facing adults with learning disabilities in Leeds.

Shadowing Project
We have so many great projects going on at the moment. It would also be great to hear from anyone that wants to be involved in our LGBTQ+ health inclusion project. This is run by Advonet, CHANGE and Yorkshire MESMAC.
The project is running a group for LGBTQ+ people with learning disabilities. It aims to help you learn new skills and build confidence to speak for yourself and be included in the services you use. If you want to get involved, please email [email protected].
When is the meeting?
