Improvement noted in mental health and confidence levels
ST attended the Autism AIM hub after a late autism diagnosis, with many issues and concerns: isolation, depression, lack of employment/ volunteering or social activities, benefits and finance issues, health and housing issues. We have supported him to develop a health passport to help with putting forward difficulties with communicating health issues and helped resolve benefits issues so that backdated amounts have been received. We have supported him to access food banks and emergency support when he is in financial crisis. supported him to resolve housing issues so that he is now rehoused and provided a one to one mentor. This mentor has supported him to access volunteering opportunities and develop a profile to help maintain these opportunities. ST has reported an improvement in his mental health, confidence and well being and reduced isolation, including confidence in speaking about his needs to health professionals.
