The Advonet Group’s Chief Executive, Philip Bramson, will be leaving his role at the end of August 2024 for a new role. Philip has been in post for 12 years, overseeing a lot of change in what our advocacy services and inclusion projects do.
He first became Chief Executive of Advocacy for Mental Health and Dementia (A4MHD) in 2012, then what is now The Advonet Group in 2015 following a merger with Leeds Advocacy, Articulate Advocacy and Advocacy Support. In his time with us, we have become the go-to service for advocacy in Leeds and now have around 80 staff working across multiple project areas.
Incredible culture
About his departure, Philip said: ‘I have been the Chief Officer of first Advocacy and Mental Health Dementia and then (since the 2015 merger) Advonet for 12 years. 12 years is a long time in the life of an organisation. I have seen significant change and I know the organisation now is stronger than ever.”
“It is led by a brilliant Board, staffed by fantastic colleagues and has an incredible culture. It will be a wrench leaving but a comfort to know it is in such good hands. I also believe it will be good for the organisation which will benefit from having someone with a fresh perspective as Chief Executive”, he added.
Next steps
We will be taking steps towards recruiting a new Chief Executive in the coming weeks. Our plan is to have someone in place by the end of July. Until then, our Deputy Chief Executive Wendy Cork will help us through the transition.
