We have a series of guest speakers lined up for the online launch of the Advocacy Development Fund, taking place later this month. Hear from people from local charities and community groups about what advocacy means to them, as well as how the Fund will work.

There will be four guest speakers giving their personal views about how advocacy is important to them. They include Sabah Achhide from MEMEC, Tina Leslie MBE from Freedom4Girls and Tom Shillito from TransLeeds.

How will grants be given?

Also on the agenda, we have talks about what the grants are for, who can apply and how to apply. Grants available from the fund range from £500 to £10,000 and are for community groups in Leeds.

The event will be opened by Peter Gruen, a former local councillor and Chair of The Advonet Group’s Board of Trustees. He will also close the event and take any questions.

The Fund is for community groups in Leeds who want to boost advocacy for the people and communities they work with.

When is the launch?

The launch is on Wednesday 20th July from 1pm to 3pm on Zoom. It is free to attend. To register, please book at https://adflaunch.eventbrite.co.uk.
