On Sunday 4th July, a team of 12 participants took on the Leeds 10K run to help raise funds for Advonet. Hazel, Gabby, Rosie, Mark, Nazia, Farrah, Lindsey, John, Bushra, Julia, Billie and Philip all did the annual race around Leeds, taking in many weeks and months of training beforehand.
On the day, they all did the circuit at their own pace. Mark, who has plenty of experience of doing long-distance runs and marathons, went for his personal best time for a 10K run. Although he didn’t achieve it, he enjoyed running it and hopes to take it on again next year!
Our team comprised of staff members, former staff members, volunteers and partners. Between us, we had an enjoyable experience that helped to raise funds to help make people’s voices heard and rights respected.

Funds raised

To raise money, we set up a fundraiser page on LocalGiving.org to make it easier for people to donate. Before and in the few days after our team did the Leeds 10K, including GiftAid, we have raised a total of…

£719.31!

We would like to say thank you to everyone who donated, either via LocalGiving.org or through sponsoring individual participants. Thanks also to everyone who did the race for all of their efforts in preparing for it and helping to raise money by sharing with friends, family and colleagues.
If you would like to donate, there’s still time. To do so, simply visit https://localgiving.org/fundraising/advonetleeds10k/ and donate whatever you can afford.
