Advonet are pleased to be inviting applications for the post of Leeds Autism AIM Team Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to help further develop an innovative service together with autistic adults locally to ensure the views of autistic adults are heard and acted on.

The AIM service is designed for and with autistic adults who have little or no formal funded support

It delivers:

  • Autism hub sessions
  • Regular groups and workshops
  • Advocacy and peer support
  • Mentoring service
  • Information/signposting
  • Training/consultation
  • Autistic-led post-diagnostic sessions

AIM is part of Advonet, the independent advocacy provider in Leeds, so a passion to enable and empower people to have their voice heard and a commitment to working in a person-centred way is essential. We are looking for applicants with experience of working alongside autistic adults as well as working practice of developing projects/services.

A good knowledge of statutory advocacy, health and social care services and legislation that affects autistic people, as well as awareness of safeguarding and GDPR, would be desirable.

You will be managing a small team of primarily autistic staff and will be guided by the AIM steering group, as well as from strategic direction within Advonet. You will be responsible for ensuring the service continues to support the needs identified by users, whilst also developing the project.  We are looking for applicants that have strong management experience, and are accustomed to leading projects successfully.

The post is for 28 hours/3.5 days a week with potential to increase hours as this is a growing project. The ability to work flexible hours including some evenings is necessary.
