Advocacy at Care Homes

Advocacy at Care Homes

We have been providing independent advocacy at Exemplar’s Ravensdale care home in Whinmoor since 2013.

This is commissioned for a variable number of hours each month, depending on the needs at the time.

Within the care home we provide an independent service.  An advocate spends time at the home to ensure that residents’ voices are heard, each person understands their choices and is enabled to make  decisions e.g. at in-house care planning meetings.

The independent advocate also supports residents’ involvement in development of the care home e.g. conducts feedback surveys among residents and carers, providing an independent report and making recommendations.

We can provide advocacy support packages suited to a home’s particular requirements so please contact us if this is a service you might be interested in.
