The organisation

Established in 1998, The Advonet Group is an independent advocacy charity based in Leeds and working in partnership across other regions.

The Advonet Group are comprised of statutory and non-statutory advocacy services and specialist services, (Asking You!CHANGELeeds Autism AIM, Leep1 – Leeds People First) which ensure individuals voices are heard, their rights upheld and promote the rights of people with learning disabilities and autistic people.

The role

We have an opportunity to apply for the new role of Business Support Officer within the Central Services team of Advonet. This is a newly-created role that is crucial to the strategic development of The Advonet Group. This role holder will work across the organisation to support:

  • Business development support, ensuring effective resources are in place for responding to funding opportunities
  • Support the implementation Quality Management Systems across the group
  • Group-wide responsibility for ensuring consistency and compliance of systems and reporting

Who we are looking for

We are looking for someone with business administration experience, ideally within business development or marketing. You may have supported the writing of funding bids or researched bid opportunities in the past to support your previous third-sector organisation.

You may have supported the implementation of quality management systems previously or have a good working knowledge of ISO:9001. You will be knowledgeable and experienced in using databases, to create company reports and data dashboards.

As well as being numerate, you have excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling you to communicate well with colleagues and stakeholders. You will be accustomed to successfully collaborating with colleagues across different teams.

No matter what your professional experience might be, you’ll be an extremely organised self-starter who is used to managing your own workload and working autonomously.
